IgniteYou has qualified dance Instructors who specialise in Hip Hop, Street, House, Foundations of Breakdance and Contemporary.
Hip Hop and Street are very current trends and have exploded over the last 15 years since shows such as Britains Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance have brought it to the attention of the masses. The moves are a mix of high energy and feeling with music from a Hip Hop orientation. Hip hop is very much about expression and individual personality. It involves many different styles within the one umbrella heading and can be anything from House dance through to Breakdance.
Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe.

Arts Award are a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry. IgniteYou specialise in delivering Dance Arts Award.
Offered at five different levels, young people get to:
- discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in any art form
- develop their creativity and leadership skills
- learn new skills and share them with others
- get to work with or experience working with creative arts professionals
- gain experience and knowledge to progress into further education and employment
To achieve their Arts Award, young people take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, get inspired by artists and share their arts skills with others.
